College 101 Review (1st Semester)
written on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 @ 11:16 PM ✈

If it wasn't for the unexpected 1 week suspension last August, we could have had at least 4-week of sembreak. But then, there's nothing I could do to stop the administration from adding an extra week to the semester. Well, at least we are still granted our break.

This is a warning to aspiring "collegiates" reading this. College is way too much from my expectations. I thought this would be a time for me to set foot in the real world on my own. (Which is true, btw) I expected college to be fun. (Lies included in here, since I didn't really, really, really expect college to be that  kind of fun) And lastly, I expected college to be just mere application of what you've learned in high school. What turned out is the exact opposite. Except for the "setting-foot-in-the-real-world thingy". College isn't fun - unless you define fun as being independent and having tons of vacant time, then yes it is. Nor is it a "mere application of my high school lessons", boy why did I even think of that?? The truth is, things you call exceptionally hard in high school is much much harder in college.

Who could have imagined photosynthesis involves various processes when we've been taught that photosynthesis already is a process itself? Booohoo. There's truly more than what meets the eye. It's in college where I experienced hours as minutes, and minutes as seconds. In times of long quizzes and insanely lengthy assignments, my latest bedtime is 4am!! Could you even imagine that? Then I have to wake up by 6am if I have classes by 7 or 9am if my classes start 10. I surely wish everyday was a Friday since my Friday class starts at 11 - but still not enough though.

Things get tougher and tougher everyday especially when you don't dare to read the night before. If you want to excel, then you should sweep away all unnecessary things and focus, focus, focus. I, as an avid achiever and ah, let's just say 'remarkable' student when I was in high school, couldn't even easily pass my Math test when in fact Math in high school was as easy as 1-2-3 for me!! (Not bragging, guys. Come on.) I don't know if I forgot everything I have learned about x and y or the school is just mainly of high quality standards. (I think it's the school though. =P)

But bad things aside, college is also a chance for an individual to be independent. It doesn't really not mean you have to work on your own and earn on your own to make a living. College is a way for a teen to make his decisions without the aid of his parents. And of course, college is the last step for us to enter the 'real deal' of life.
