The Constant Princess + Rooftop Prince
written on Friday, January 11, 2013 @ 7:57 PM ✈
Omg, omg.
So over the holidays, we were left by our professors some huge assignments and we had no choice but to follow then unless we want to fail. (I mean, who gives piled-up homework during the holidays?! That is just so unfair.) But as the usual forsaken student that I am, I give it a rest and enjoyed the holiday season. Ahihihihi. Evil!!
Instead, I indulged myself into a completely free break by reading a good book (and this was useful for our book report anyway) and watch a really cute and funny Korean series online. And hell yeah, it was awesome!!
Let me just give you some of my most endearing thoughts about the book and the show I watched. (*all smiles)
The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory
The novel revolves around Princess Catalina (and then Katherine when she was crowned queen), the Infanta of Spain and how she was raised up to be the next Queen of England. She was betrothed to Prince Arthur of England at age 3 and got married at 16 (who got permitted to get married at 16?!) which lasted only for five months after Arthur's sudden death. She subsequently married his younger brother, Henry VIII (the lusty king with six wives, SIX wives, SIX WIVES k) after telling the most audacious lie (you have to find out what it is, scandalousssss) and win the greatest battle against Scotland.
Actually, I have heard of Philippa Gregory long before I have heard the six wives of Henry VIII (tsk tsk) in junior year. I just didn't like the idea of reading thick novels back then. Until I have seen The Other Boleyn Girl's movie trailer and I've known it was based on the novel itself by Philippa. I asked my mom to buy me the book first before I would watch the movie and then boom, it isn't available. But something good came out from something unlucky. I badly needed a book for our book report so I obliged to my mom's suggestion of buying The Constant Princess instead. Hubba-hubba, I fell in love with the story. I fell in love with Arthur (`cause in my mind he's truly handsome). I like him with Catalina (and with me too, teheee). Well, if you're a girl who still feel the 'princess' in you, this is a good book. This isn't a fairy tale though. Catalina and Arthur did exist. It's the actual events that are fictionalized (though I am still believing this happened in real life farther more than it's fictional). I'd give it a 10/10! :)

Rooftop Prince (Korean TV Series)
And this is the real deal. THIS IS BEYOND CUTE. <3
Prince Lee Gak (the one on the left) is an ancient Crown Prince way back the Joseon era of Korea. He woke up early morning to find out the Crown Princess has just drowned (ad died, duhh). No one in the palace knows how the princess' death goes and so the crime remains a mystery. While he attempts to solve the puzzle, he assembled his own crew with Yong-sul, Man-bo and Chi-san and decipher the princess killer. When they were being chased by possible enemies, they end up landing at Park-ha's rooftop, 300 year later!! (Can you imagine time travelling that way?!)
Now Prince Lee Gak has to untangle the rope of mysteries as he pretends to be Tae-yong, the future version of himself surrounded by few familiar characters in the Joseon era. Se-na, Park-ha's austere sister, is the Crown Princess and her boyfriend, Tae-mu, is the past's Prince Muchong. As Lee Gak and his crew's days passed, they uncover the biggest secrets of the kingdom, relate the past's mystery to their arrival at Park-ha's house instead of Se-na's, the Crown Princess herself, and discover the real identity of Boo-yong, the Crown Princess' sister.

I was dead serious about this series. I thought this was sort-of a twist in Sungkyunwan Scandal, since Micky (thhe lead character) was there too, wearing hanbok. What really fascinates me is the unique time-travelling story (though I know it's fictitious, of course) and the course of related events in the past and present. YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS. `CAUSE HELLO?! MICKY YOOCHUN AND HAN JI MIN'S TANDEM IS WAY MORE INCREDIBLE THAN THE REST. AHIHIHIHIHI. :) The rate? 10/10!!!! <3

It's all about who we are..for real
“I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.”
Bill Cosby
Hey!I'm Roseanne Erika A. Loquellano. My friends call me Erika, but when I reached college, some of my new-found friends call me Rosiee or Chichi. And it's weird hearing that.
I've been living in this crazy for 17 years now. My journey has always been and will always be a bumpy one. I've been through the loudest laughter and the saddest tears but still here I am today, standing still, proud and happy to who I really am.
I have an amazing family. My dad, Ronnie, has been working overseas since I was three. God knows how much I miss him every single day that he's not around. He still calls my mom 'Love' and it's so thoughtful of him for doing that. My mom, Evelyn, is a public elementary teacher. She was my Filipino teacher when I was in the 6th grade too. She's a bit loud I tell you, but deep inside, she's really sweet, funny and of course loving. I have two ridiculous older brothers. Rodney, the eldest, dreams of becoming a pilot but still hasn't find enough financial support for his training, which leads him to apply for a job in a ship company. Michael, my older brother, is on his last year in college already. So we'll be expecting a fully-payed nurse maybe 2 years from now after his board exams and additional experiences. I, being the youngest of the siblings, am on my first year in Biology, because I hoped to become a doctor some day.
Being a doctor isn't just my only dream by the way. I had hoped of becoming an actress ever since I was a child. The limelight has always been the source of my inspiration every time I declaim, which eventually make me look like I am natural. Well, my mother was an actress anyway. In her college years, she was an athlete, musician, declaimer and a dancer, no wonder how I got my ever awesome chromosomes. Ahihihi. I wanna explore the center stage, and I wanna know what it feels like to win an Oscar and have a sold-out concert. But yeah, I have to stick to college first. My mom says, no matter what age you'll reach dream, it's still fulfilling `cause you know you have accomplished something really important to you.
I always remind myself to stay inspired. Because it is only through inspiration that we are motivated to move and be different. This still ain't my moment to shine (bright like diamonds and make tons of money, hihi), but somehow someday when my moment comes, I will be a champion. :) Stay inspired!
